Hello everyone and Happy Friday! Can you believe that today was our last day of English Class? I still remember the first days when the students were nervous to talk in class. It is amazing to see how far they have come since then.

For our last day of English class, student were very creative and practiced their presentation skills. They created their own zoos and had to present about their zoo to the class. Continuing their isolated island activity from yesterday, students also created a story about being stranded on an island. They were funny stories and involved our 4 classroom assistants!

After saying goodbye to Justin, our English Teacher, we enjoyed lunch together at 64 Degrees! Most students ate hamburgers and hot dogs, but I also saw a lot of students enjoying salads 🙂

Today, we had our Sports Day at UCSD. We had a total of 6 games where students could work with American students to win points for their night activity team. Notice everyone’s stylish tie-dye shirts we made earlier! We make one cute family!

We started with a water balloon toss, where two students tossed a water balloon until it popped! Students had a lot of fun with this activity and I think it was the most popular 🙂

For our second activity, we had a tennis ball relay. In this, students had to run with a tennis ball between their knees and drop it to the end location! I was shocked to see most students hopped to their goal, and one group even tumbled to their goal. I was much slower than them ><

For the third event, we passed sponges filled with water over our heads, then under our legs (and so on) until the bucket was filled up! Students got wet in this game, but they were all speedy with filling it up!

For the next activity, students all held hands and had to pass a hula hoop through the line… without letting go of each others hands. It was fun to see them holding hands and working together 🙂

In our most challenging event, each team had to unscramble a sentence. Most students had a difficult time with the long sentences, but they were all able to recreate their full sentences!

After working on unscrambling their sentences, we finished up our sports day with a game of Capture the Flag. The students were all so competitive and fought hard to win!

Before crowning the winner, we all got dinner at 64 Degrees together. I had a feeling most students were excited to learn about who would win.

In the end, Team Chocolate was crowned the winner! Congratulations to Miku, Mia, Seiya, and Sho! Everyone did their best and had a lot of fun, so it was a great success 🙂

In order to prepare for our presentations tomorrow, students are busy working on their posters and scripts. Tomorrow is the day for them to present about what they have learned, but students seem nervous to present to College students! I am sure everyone will do a great job!!

Overall, today was a great way to conclude our English Class. Students were communicating in English and they also recognize their own growth. Everyone should be proud of all their hard work.

Tomorrow, we will present our Group Cultural Topics and then have a fun Beach Day! But, I do expect it to be very hard to say goodbye to some of the American students tomorrow. Hopefully everyone won’t be too sad tomorrow night as we prepare for Disneyland on Sunday.

Thanks for reading and I hope everyone is excited to see pictures of our Farewell Party!
