Hello again everyone!

Our first full day at UCSD was a blast! Here we all are in front of the UCSD Geisel Library. Do you know Dr. Seuss? He was the inspiration for the Library!

We had a sleepy start during breakfast at the cafeteria. We ate typical American Breakfasts (cereal, yogurt, eggs and bacon) to give us energy for our first English lesson.

We met our English Teacher, Justin, and the four American classroom assistants (Griffin, Ashleigh, Morgan, and Kim).

For our first English lesson, we focused on speaking English and introductions. After a short lesson on grammar, we also practiced using American money (very useful for all the shopping 🙂 )

After a yummy lunch, the American High School students arrived for our UCSD Campus Tour, Scavenger Hunt, and Bookstore Shopping!

For our scavenger hunt, students were in teams with American students and had to take pictures together throughout the campus! Students took some great pics 🙂

Because UCSD is so big, students were all feeling tired. Luckily, we all had lots to eat for our dinner. Students loved the desserts too!

Tonight was our first night activity. This year, we have Team “Teen Yellow,” Team “Ketchup,” Team “Chocolate,” and Team “Black Penguin.” Who will win in the end?

Our first activity was making our own Tie-Dye T-shirts. We have to wait until tomorrow to see how they look, but I know I am excited to see all the shirts 🙂

For our first full day, students are all feeling more comfortable and making good friends with each other and the American students! Tomorrow we are off to the Beach, so let’s hope for some sun!

Good Night everyone!
